This timer application was developed to enhance the auditory experience during gameplay of the cooperative real-time board game “X-Code.” It functions as a replacement for the in-box sand timer, providing a more precise and engaging timing mechanism. Players have a strict three-minute window to complete their mission of safeguarding computer systems from a virus, with authentic sound effects designed to heighten the tension and immersion.

<li>“X-Code” is designed by renowned game designer Kasper Lapp. It promotes simultaneous gameplay, demanding quick thinking and effective communication among players.</li>
<li>Players work together to decipher a 12-character code within the short time limit. Additional time can be earned through efficiency, but success hinges on speed and coordination.</li>
<li>The game features unlockable missions, initially kept concealed in secure lockers that require specific mechanisms to access. These missions introduce new challenges and heighten replayability.</li>
</ul>

The “X-Code” timer app was collaboratively developed in 2018 by DIGIDICED and AMIGO Spiel + Freizeit GmbH, aiming to deliver an immersive and precise timing solution for this innovative cooperative game.
